Most of us get dark spots on our face as we get older — whether they're from the sun or they just develop with age. And most of us wonder if there's anything we can do to get rid of them — or, at the very least, fade them.
Well, dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee — also known as Dr. Pimple Popper — suggests grapes. (YEP, grapes.)
"A grape has tartaric acid in it," Dr. Lee explains, "which is an alpha hydroxy acid [that's also a] chemical peel ingredient." The acid in grapes help encourage cell turnover and exfoliation.
Who knew?!
Just cut them in half and use a Q-tip to apply a bit of the juice to your dark spots. "And you can see them lighten subtly," Dr. Lee says.
Now, let's be completely honest here — grapes might not reduce really dark spots, "but they have some exfoliating effect," Dr. Lee explains.
We'll take it!
