Actor Jimmy Smits explains what it's like working on his new police drama "East New York."
"We have great technical advisors that try to keep us on the straight and narrow to let us know the law enforcement point of view and then what the community's point of view is, so that all comes out during the readthroughs. The bottom line is when something goes down, wherever you're at, you're dialing 9-1-1, but you want that relationship to be solid—and back and forth," Jimmy says.
