Hibiscus flowers steeped in simple syrup are the secret ingredient behind John's easy margarita, but it's easy to make your own hibiscus simple syrup too.

Rach's sister Maria found these Wild Hibiscus Flowers In Syrup, but make your own by brewing hibiscus tea and using it to make a simple syrup.

John made these margaritas for Mexican night with Rach. On the menu? Carnitas, Black Beans, and Mexican-Style Red Rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 2 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 ounce hibiscus simple syrup, plus 1 flower from syrup, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Add tequila, lime juice, and hibiscus simple syrup to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with flower.

Always drink responsibly.
