Ingredients
1 pound spaghetti
4 tablespoons sweet butter, divided
8 ounces tomato sauce
6 ounces tomato paste
3 ounces plain cream cheese, cut into pieces and softened at room temperature
1 American cheese, to 1/2 slices, cut into small pieces
Yield
Serves: 4 to 6 servings
Preparation
Boil 6 quarts of water.
Take a handful of spaghetti out of the box, break it in half then place into the boiling water. Repeat until all of the spaghetti is in the water.
Spaghetti should be properly softened after 12 minutes of boiling. Drain spaghetti in a colander.
Place 2 tablespoons of butter at bottom of spaghetti pot then add drained spaghetti. Add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the pot and mix to coat pasta. Add tomato paste and mix until thoroughly combined. Mix in tomato sauce.
Add the cream cheese into the spaghetti and mix until it completely dissolves into the spaghetti.
Place pot on stove on low to medium flame and drop in little squares of American cheese while stirring until cheese is melted throughout spaghetti and spaghetti is warmed through.
Serve spaghetti when it is hot and tell everyone to salt to taste.
