Grilling season is firing up and we could not be more excited!
Steak, ribs, chicken, BURGERS -- if you can think it, the grill can cook it!
Master butcher Ray Venezia (aka Ray the Butcher who literally wrote the book on meat) said his family cooked their THANKSGIVING TURKEY on the grill once! (Psh, deep fryers are SO last year...)
And while grilling can seem like a simple task, Ray says many people actually end up overcooking meats -- apparently there’s an art to getting everything grilled juuuuust right.
To help avoid said grilling pitfall, Ray tried out three different grilling gadgets so you don’t have to. Read all about them and get his expert grilling tips below.
Ultimate Chicken Roaster by Williams-Sonoma
It claims to help cook a more succulent chicken by suspending it upside down on the grill.
After giving it a test run, Ray seemed pretty pleased as he sat down to eat the chicken.
“It’s very good, juicy, it held a lot of the natural moisture in and the meat shrinks less that way, so you actually get more of what you pay for,” says Ray.

Hotspot Notebook Portable Charcoal Grill by Fire Sense
It claims to unfold in just seconds so you can grill on the go!
“It’s great for camping,” says Ray. “It does the job, but it IS light, and the top gets really hot, so just be careful not to knock it over!”
Smokerin Smoker Box Set by Montana Grilling Gear
It claims to turn your outdoor grill into a smoker in just 60 seconds. And after lifting the lid of the grill to reveal two racks of juicy, smoky ribs, he just couldn’t contain his excitement.
“A nice hint of a little smoky flavor,” says Ray. “I can taste the hickory… this is a product that I would use myself!”
