Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound cod or Ling Cod or Red Snapper
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • Half an onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons potato starch
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
  • Vegetable oil or Crisco, for frying

Preparation

Heat oil in a deep pot over medium-high heat.

Place fish in a food processor and pulse until slightly ground. Slowly add half-and-half and process to combine. Add in onion and the rest of ingredients, and process until mixture is a creamy texture.

Carefully drop spoonfuls of the mixture and fry in hot oil. Turn over the fish ball when it starts to float and take them out when they are a golden brown (about 2 minutes a sidedamn good!)
