Let’s say you’re in a coffeehouse and you want to connect to free Wifi (because, duh!).
You open up your phone or computer, peruse the available networks and see something like this:

"CoffeeHaus" looks pretty darn suspicious, wouldn't you say? (Unless, of course, the coffeehouse is actually CALLED "CoffeeHaus.")
The point is that the name of the network typically matches the name of the business -- and any spelling differences or added characters could be red flags.
"If you click on the wrong one [like that]," former CIA officer Jason Hanson advises, "a bad guy has set that up."
"And when you start logging in to your bank accounts and other accounts," he continues, "they're reading everything. They know it all."
Welp. BUT, before you fall into a worry spiral, there *is* a super easy way to avoid that.
The safety pro suggests asking an employee at whichever restaurant, hotel or airport you're in for their specific Wifi name to ensure you’re clicking on a legitimate one.
Yup, it's THAT simple.
