Turns out aging is inevitable (who knew?!).
The good news: you don't have to resort to pricey (and invasive) fillers or surgery for great anti-aging effects, according to beauty and lifestyle expert Milly Almodovar, who reviews skincare products and makeup for a living.
She's sharing two of her favorite new at-home alternatives to more expensive or intensive dermatological procedures.
BEST ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS FOR 2019
INSTEAD OF FILLERS: EXUVIANCE HA100 MICRO-FILLER
The Exuviance HA100 Micro-Filler packets claim to target all kinds of wrinkles and fine lines on your face: forehead creases, crow's feet, smile lines — you name it.
The key is in the name. HA100 stands for 100% Hyaluronic Acid, which Milly says is an ingredient that everyone should have and use.
"It attracts moisture to your skin," she explains, "so the more moist your skin is, the more plump your fine lines will look."
The product is a two-step treatment — it contains a serum that should be used daily, every morning and night, plus patches that should be used once a week at bedtime.
Apply the patch or patches once a week before bed to the line(s) you want to target. The product will dissolve into your skin overnight. When you wake up, the area should be noticeably more plump and smooth, according to Milly.
INSTEAD OF A CHEMICAL PEEL: DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE ALPHA BETA DAILY PEEL
Another one of Milly's favorite skincare products intended to combat fine lines and wrinkles is the Alpha Beta Daily Peel from Dr. Dennis Gross.
"It's a two-step patented peel from Dr. Dennis Gross, who is a huge dermatologist in New York," she says.
Peels are a big beauty trend right now, according to the expert, and this anti-aging peel contains 5 Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids.
"What that's going to do is remove that dead skin," Milly says, "but then it has a step two. Step two is going to neutralize and control the Alpha Hydroxy Acids and just make your skin glow brighter, much more luminous."
She recommends applying step one for two minutes and using step two immediately afterward.
"It's going to neutralize it and it's going to add vitamin C and retinols to your skin. Your skin is going to look like the skin you had when you were 16!" Milly claims.
Always consult your dermatologist before introducing new products to your routine.
