We all know to avoid poison ivy plants if we don't want a rash (who does?!), but what about avoiding people who have fallen victim to the poisonous plant?
Well, according to family physician and associate professor at Rowan University in New Jersey, Dr. Jen Caudle, a poison ivy rash itself isn't contagious, but people who have one still might be … because of residual oils on their clothes or skin.

"It's actually the oil from the poison ivy or poison oak tree that will get on your clothes or your skin before you have a chance to wash or take your clothes off," she tells us.
