John got the idea for this fruity twist on the Negroni—a classic Italian cocktail—during a visit to Jean-Georges Vongerichten's New York restaurant The Fulton. Infusing the gin with strawberries lends sweetness and a lovely color and aroma.

Ingredients

  • 1½ ounces Strawberry-Infused Gin
  • 1½ ounces Campari
  • ¾ ounce red vermouth
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Orange twist, for garnish
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled rocks glass. Stir to chill and garnish with orange twist and strawberry slices.
